$CheB Nodes

CheB plans on transitioning from its current traditional centralised servers, to a more secure, robust and scalable decentralised infrastructure. The vision is to allow anyone around the world to spin up a Cheb Node on their local computer and start hosting parts of our data and back-end infrastructure on their end.

How does it contribute to the community?

1. Passive Revenue for anyone who hosts a Node

Imagine you have set-up your computer to host a CheB Node. On your node, a set of our data and back-end functionalities get deployed. Every time a user of CheB requests that data, via our applications, that data will be retrieved from or, the cloud computing will be done on your machine. In exchange of each such execution or aka transaction, you will be receiving a reward of certain amount of $CheB Token. The more a set of data is being processed on your end, the more $CheB Tokens you will be rewarded with, which can eventually become a passive revenue stream.

2. Data security and integrity

The CheB Nodes will follow the principles of blockchain to ensure data security and integrity. Every bit of data hosted on every or any CheB Node will be encrypted and distributed across multiple blocks of data, across multiple nodes. It is not guaranteed that a specific set of data will be hosted or deployed on a single CheB node. This is done on purpose to ensure a fair distribution of data among all CheB Node Holders and also to tighten the overall security of the platform.

How do we plan to do it?

The CheB Nodes will require a set of tools in order for it to get developed. Below is a simple breakdown of how our architecture would look like:

  • Object data will mostly be stored using BigChainDB

  • The APIs will be containerized using Docker so that anyone can easily set it up on their machine. The APIs will be responsible for various important tasks that our applications depend on such as data compression, image manipulation and enhancements, encryption etc.

  • IPFS will be used to host files such as images, videos - across all the nodes.

  • All the transactions would go through smart contracts deployed on SKALE - The zero gas-fee Ethereum EVM, thus ensuring that the node holders earn a fair share of revenue.

  • The overall infrastructure will be maintained and developed via Chainlink.
